Little additions at your home can transform it into a haven of mental wellness

ByIANSlife Features

January 15, 2020 (IANSlife) After a chaotic day out, most people look for comfort and mental peace in their homes. Simple introductions to your space can bring you the much-desired sense of calm.

Transform your home into a haven of peace and tranquillity, and begin a relaxed lifestyle with a home decor makeover. (With inputs by Mr. Baashobe Majumdar, VP – Design, HomeLane.)

1. Relax and get your Zen going with a water fountain

The sounds of trickling water can calm your senses and instil a sense of peace. What’s more, the element of water is said to attract positive energy into your home. Create your own Zen corner with a fountain, pebbles and potted plants; light aromatic candles and enjoy the bliss!

2. Rejuvenate with a Himalayan salt lamp

Himalayan salt lamps not only look pretty, they are known to balance the electromagnetic radiation in your home and cleanse the indoor air. Refresh and rejuvenate your energy levels by placing a salt lamp in every room.

3. Get in tune with nature

Nature offers some great design inspiration for a tranquil interior. Use sustainable materials like jute, rattan, bamboo and linen and do up your room in shades of white, beige and brown to create a sense of harmony that’s in tune with nature.

If you already don’t have one, slowly build a home garden with air purifying plants.

4. Invest in an aroma diffuser

Smell has a lot to do with your sense of inner peace. As you unwind, spread some natural scents in your home with small aroma and essential oil diffusers for each room.

Create your own little sanctuary at home, where you can escape and chill at the end of a tiring day. Try incorporating some lifestyle changes to match; set some time aside to meditate, do yoga and balance your energy with some positive affirmations.
