July 15, 2021 (IANSlife) The monsoon season brings with it both positives and negatives into our lives, which includes wider scope for infections and bacteria to grow and infest with that humidity in the air. Why are there a higher number of vaginal infections during monsoon?
She answers: “As we know that with the rain comes humidity and with that comes a lot of infections. The privates of women are already very moist and the added moisture and humidity in the environment only adds to that and causes accelerated infection in the vaginal area. It is also said that the pH levels of the vaginal during monsoons (humidity) drop which in turn increases the chances of a female getting a vaginal infection. With the monsoon, getting caught in a situation where you might get drenched is high and wearing clothes that are wet and are touching your privates for a long time becomes an invitation for bacteria and infection to infest and there is a higher percentage of catching an infection.”
