A fitting tribute to India-Thailand diplomatic relations

North-East India Festival

July 26, 2022 (IANSlifeThe second edition of the North-East India Festival in Bangkok will be held from July 29-31st at Central World, to commemorate the ongoing 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Thailand.

The three-day festival hosted by the Embassy of India, in collaboration with Trend MMS of India will showcase a wide range of products manufactured by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises from the North-Eastern States of India in sectors such as agri-products, processed food, handicrafts, and light manufacturing.

The inaugural North-East India Festival held in Bangkok in February 2019, opened a significant business opportunities for the North-East Indian business community, particularly in the tourism, agro, and food processing sectors. This year's festival will focus on promoting trade, investment, and tourism, as well as cultural, educational, and people-to-people exchanges.

According to a statement release issued by the Embassy of India, the Festival's Chief Guest will be Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, Union Minister of State for External Affairs, Government of India.

Chief Ministers and other Ministers from India's North-Eastern states, as well as senior government officials, will attend the Festival. Thai dignitaries are also expected to attend the Festival and grace the inauguration. A large contingent of North-Eastern artists, including musicians and dancers, craftspeople, businesspeople/exhibitors, tour operators, and academicians, are expected to travel to Bangkok to participate in this Festival, as well as hold B2B meetings and academic exchanges.

To enhance awareness of tourism, trade, and investment opportunities in the North-Eastern States of India, the Tourism B2B Meet and Trade Meet will be organized on 30 July 2022.

An academic seminar on the historical connections between North-East India and South East Asia, which will include interactions between scholars, historians, students from North-East India, and students, scholars, and historians of South East Asia, will be organized on 31 July 2022 as part of people-to-people exchange.
