The latest target, renowned designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee, in the line of fire over his recently launched jewellery campaign which features couples modelling his Royal Bengal Mangalsutra collection.
The 'Intimate Fine Jewellery' campaign showcases models embracing and posing dressed in intimate wear adorned with a Royal Bengal version of a mangalsutra. The mangalsutra is a traditional necklace to be worn by Hindu women to signify they are married. Netizens have trolled the designer asking whether he is selling "lingerie" or a "mangalsutra" and have accused him or hurting sentiments.
