Zomato forays into digital event space with ‘Zomaland@Home’

Incredible line-up includes celebrity chefs, global mixologists, popular musicians, DJ’s, comedians, food industry veterans & many more

June 2, 2020 (IANSlife) Zomato has announced the first digital version of its food and entertainment carnival Zomaland, titled Zomaland@Home. The digital carnival will feature a diverse curation of shows with celebrated names from the food, entertainment and nightlife industries.

Spread across two weekends, Zomaland@Home will be live on June 5-7 and 12-14.

The line up of Zomaland@Home includes shows like Table Talk, candid, individual sessions that will host global culinary superstar chefs like Sanjeev Kapoor, Pooja Dhingra, Saransh Goila, Amrita Raichand, Sarah Huang and Eric Chan, while comedians Varun Thakur and Rahul Subramanian, Kusha Kapila and Dolly Singh, and Singapore’s Rishi Budhrani and Sharul Channa will stir up fun conversations from their kitchens about food, cooking and some banter, in the segment of Kitchen Roast. 

Coveted comic and talk show host Abish Mathew will also host live interactions with celebrated professionals and stars from various industries, and Wrap Stars will bring the culture of hip-hop and local cuisines across continents by an engaging session between ‘Gully Boy’ famed, hip-hop star Naezy and internationally acclaimed Yung Raja. 

The festival will stream on the Zomato app as well as on Zomaland’s social media channels.

Speaking about the event, rapper Naezy said: “Quite fervent about being a part of Zomaland@Home. What could be a better way to reach your audience and interact with them during the ongoing circumstances. I’m glad that Zomato is creating such a platform for many artists and their users across the globe.” 

Viewers will also get to watch Magic & You featuring India’s famous magicians, Karan Singh and Vivek Desai, engaging live with audiences. Viewers could also Get Fit! with celebrity fitness instructor Yasmin Karachiwala and New Delhi’s go to work-out spot, BoxFit. That’s not all, #DIYCocktails will host a masterclass by globally acclaimed mixologist and founder of one of Asia’s top 10 bars, Native in Singapore, Vijay Mudaliar.

GB Srithar, Regional Director – India, Middle East & South Asia (IMESA), Singapore Tourism Board, which has tied up with Zomato for the carnival, said:  “While travel restrictions are still in place, we seek to continue our strong connections with the Indian consumers. After a successful partnership with Zomato in 2019, we are thrilled to embark on this innovative joint digital initiative to showcase Singapore’s culinary, nightlife, entertainment offerings to the Indian audience through these virtual weekend festivals. We invite Indian audiences to tune in and enjoy the experiential delights that our Singapore and Indian talents have to serve up.”
